Hi. I have been googling research on reversal the last few weeks. I am almost 25 with a 6 year old son & my fiance is 41 with an 18 year old daughter. We've been looking into the reversal so we can have our own & extend of family. He has had his vas since 1997 so we're hoping and praying it turns out in our favor. Ive have wanted another little one so long & think my son would make an awesome big brother. Our biggest concern is the cost & if insurance will even cover any of it and if it will even work. Got all my fingers crossed! Love your story!!

Sher,

The doctor did not suggest sperm removal before the reversal. No needles!

If I recall correctly, there was some pain, comparable to the original vasectomy.

And yes, we have a happy and healthy three year old!

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

Ohmigosh I've been reading your reverse vasectomy blog for the last few hours-- what a trip!
My husband and I are considering having his vasectomy reversed and we're both very nervous about the success rates and he's pretty nervous about the possible pain...
When you went to your consultation did they do anything involving needles? Someone said they might try and remove sperm with a needle BEFORE they schedule a vasectomy reversal... was this the case for you?
I was so happy to read that you and your wife had a beautiful boy!!! Brought me to tears...
I'm so envious.
Hope all is well now (with a three year old???)

Congratulations. As you know taking care of babies kind of trumps everything else for a good long while. I totally missed this pregnancy and everything. How wonderful that things worked out for you so quickly and that you have your beautiful little guy now.

We are just starting to venture out to try for #2. Another online friend of mine is recently pregnant with her fourth post-vas reversal conception. She has had two living babies, one in utero, and one miscarriage. This on top of several children from her prior marriage.
