Fertility test results
I’m not sure how many people have received their fertility test results this way, but I got mine while at the top of a ski slope! I had a voice mail message from the surgeon who did my vasectomy reversal, John Gould. The news was mixed; although sperm was present, the count was low. It could go up in the future, it could go down. So now we’re faced with lots of decisions — wait and see, freeze sperm for IVF, consider a donor. It’s all pretty overwhelming.
We live several hours from my doctor, and I had the test done locally, so he doesn’t have full faith in the results. It just so happens that we’re in the Lake Tahoe area, and will be passing within a stone’s throw of his office when we drive back. So we’re getting an early start tomorrow morning, and going by his office for another test. I don’t think we’ll opt for freezing sperm on the spot, but who knows?
At least we’ll get to have a face-to-face conversation about all this, and I’m sure we’ll have more info to post soon.

Hello there,
I noticed that you also had dr. gould for your reversal. My husband had dr. gould do his reversal in march 2007. We were just curious if you ever got pregnant or if you are still tyring? if you did conceive, did you do it naturally? Thank you.we are just looking for some hope..

Leslie,
Indeed we did. Our baby was born about 18 months post-reversal. You can read about him here… http://myvasectomyreversal.com/a-baby-boy/134/
Lisa had one miscarriage first, about six months post-reversal. On average, it takes a year to pregnant after the surgery. Hang in there and have patience. We’ll wish you luck.
