I’m buying blue!

It’s a boy!  We finally had the ultrasound that the doctor ordered about 3 weeks ago, and junior was very cooperative.  It was pretty clear that we’re having a boy!  Although I always said it didn’t matter if we had a boy or girl (and it doesn’t), I was really hoping for a boy, so “yay”!  Now that I know, I feel like we can really get to work on the nursery – shopping for everything we need, since so many things only come in pink or blue.  How much yellow and green can you have, really?

We got some other information from the ultrasound, too.  It was ordered in the first place because I was measuring a little large. Well, on the day of the ultrasound, I was 25 weeks.  Junior, however, measures at 26 weeks.  We’re pretty sure of the date of conception, since I was charting my temps, so he’s just a big boy.  According to the ultrasound tech, he’s also got long legs, so I guess he’ll be tall, like me and his dad. I’m suddenly a little more afraid of childbirth – I don’t want to have to push out a giant!

I go back for my next appointment with small town doc in less than a week, so I hope he gives us more info from the ultrasound and reassurance that junior will not be a 10 pound bowling ball.

I’ve included Junior’s newest photo, isn’t he the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen?

  • Oh Lisa! He is just gorgeous! I am still here and still reading and loving your story. Such wonderful news for you! Now that you know the sex, you can do all sorts of things and I’m sure it will take such a load off your mind. Don’t worry about having to push out a giant; you’re stronger than you think! I have faith that it will all go well. And I can’t wait to see the baby pics after he’s on the outside! Sending much love to you all. Always.
