Hi Erin,
When Rich had his surgery, it took about 3 to 4 hours. I was in the room with him for prep, but not for the procedure. I was out in the waiting area during the procedure and got periodic updates about how the surgery was progressing. Once it was finished, they let me join him in the recovery room. I really don't remember how long we were there. Maybe an hour or two? We stayed in a hotel nearby the next night, because we lived a ways from the doc's office and didn't think Rich could stand a 4 hour drive home.

Good luck with your husband's surgery!

my husband has an appointment in 1 month for his vasectomy reversal...I suppose in trying to prepare ourselves for the actual day of, we was wondering if you could give some insight into how long the surgery lasted, was your wife allowed to stay with you or did she have to wait in a waiting room, and how long did you have to stay in recovery after the surgery?

Any insight you could give would be greatly appreciated!

Glad to hear the operation went well. Did they find live sperm from the testical side of the vas?

My acupunturist said that surgery can cause some stagnation in the body that acupuncture can help with. I personally found this was helpful after my fibroid operation. Evidently they can do some work around this type of vas procedure, ask your local chapter of RESOLVE for acupunture references if you are interested.

Best wishes,

A
