Pregnant again after vasectomy reversal

Aunt Flow was due on Monday, but when I took my temperature that morning, it had jumped rather than dropped.  A triphasic chart is supposed to be a sign of pregnancy, and my breasts had been sore for almost two weeks (another early pregnancy symptom), so I decided to take a home pregnancy test.  It was positive!  I didn’t quite believe it, partly because it was one of those 99 cent tests that come with Pre-Seed. So I bought another, planning to take it the next day, and somehow forgot yesterday morning. This morning, it was clearly positive.

I’m happy and excited, definitely. But I’m also a lot more subdued than last time.  I’m afraid of another miscarriage and constantly looking for signs of it.  Last time I started bleeding at 5 weeks, and right now I’m just barely 4 weeks.  I think I’ll relax after 6 weeks, since miscarriage risk goes down once they can see the heartbeat.  My first doctor’s appointment is saturday, and I’m going to push for lots of monitoring and blood work to see if my hCG levels are doubling.

I admit, I had been losing faith.  I was paying attention to our low sperm count and upset about the miscarriage.  Everyone says it’s easier to get pregnant if you relax, and maybe that’s what happened. Last time, our BFP came after a vacation.  I’m just glad it happened, and trying to stay positive and optimistic!

A note for my real world friends who may occasionally check this blog:  It’s cool that you know about this, but please respect that we am not yet ready to announce this publicly.  Please respect that.  We want to wait until we’re past the high risk period before we let people know.  Thanks!

  • Thanks! I'm looking for all the sticky dust I can get.  And I'm hoping you get YOUR BFP in a few weeks.
