Taking Charge of Your Fertility book review

Taking Charge of Your FertilityAnother guest post: At the recommendation of a friend and new mom, I just read Taking Charge of Your Fertility, by Toni Weschler. I devoured this 300+ page book pretty quickly. As an educated woman, I thought I had a good grasp of what goes on in my body every month and how conception works. After reading this book, I realize how little I really knew. Maybe it was my religious school upbringing, but I was never taught this about my body. Taking Charge of Your Fertility does a great job of explaining what's really going on during a woman'’s cycle, and teaches the "Fertility Awareness Method"” so that you have a pretty good sense of when you are actually fertile and likely to conceive (which may not be day 14 of your cycle). The Fertility Awareness Method is definitely not the Rhythm Method. I'’ve just started tracking my cycle in a whole new way,– by taking my temperature every morning, and noticing the quality of my cervical fluid, but I'’m just a little too squeamish to track my cervical position! I had hoped to get more information on nutrition and lifestyle changes I could be making in order to increase my chances of conception (assuming the vasectomy reversal actually works), but this was only briefly touched upon in Taking Charge of Your Fertility. I may have to order another book. Anyone have recommendations?
