The halfway point
Believe it or not, I’m actually at the halfway point through this pregnancy – twenty weeks along! I say believe it or not, because it feels like the four and a half months have just flown by, and I imagine the next four and a half will go just as quickly. I don’t feel sick at all anymore, and sometimes it’s hard to remember I’m pregnant. Then I get reminded by a flutter feeling in my stomach (which are getting stronger and feeling less like flutters and more like jabs). Yes, I’m feeling movement! It’s so exciting and reassuring when I feel those strnage sensations. I can’t wait until the kicks are strong enough for daddy to feel. Not yet, but I think it’s coming soon.
Despite feeling movement and being as far along as I am, I don’t show too much and I’m still able to wear some of my regular pants. Somehow, I expected to look bigger at this point and I’m actually looking forward to when people can just tell by looking at me that I’m pregnant. Most people I know in this small town know already, but I’ll feel different when I’m really showing.
No news yet on gender. Hopefully, there will be a reason for an ultrasound next time I go to the doctor so we can get a peek. My guess is that it’s a girl, but I have nothing but intuition to base that on, so who knows? My next appointment is about 10 days away, so hopefully we’ll know something soon after that!
