TTC diet and nutrition

Since we are now trying to conceive after Rich's vasectomy reversal , I've continued to improve my diet and have begun taking prenatal vitamins. Besides eating healthier, I wanted to research what else I should be eating or not eating to ensure a healthy pregnancy.
- To prevent listeriosis, avoid deli meats and hot dogs unless piping hot
- No jerky
- No soft cheeses unless label says made with pasteurized milk (cream cheese and cottage cheese are okay)
- No blue veined cheeses
- No unpasteurized milk or milk products
- No smoked seafood
- Eggs must be cooked well
- No veggie sprouts
- No unpasteurized juice
- No peas (apparently, peas have a contraceptive effect)
- Limit soy, which mimics estrogen
- Practice good food safety. Make sure fridge is set below 40 degrees, cook foods thoroughly, and refrigerate leftovers right away. Use ready to eat foods right away.
Fish:
- Limit fish to 12 ounces a week
- No shark, swordfish, king mackerel, or tilefish
- No raw fish
- No more sushi, even if it's not raw
- Okay to eat – shrimp, canned light tuna (limit albacore), salmon, pollock and catfish
- Only 6 of ounces tuna steak per week
- Vary the fish you eat
