A few months ago, I posted links to vasectomy reversal message forums. These forums, AKA discussion boards, are great resources, but the language can be confusing. Just like other places on the Internet, short-hand, acronyms and abbreviations are common place. Here are some of the ones you're more likely to encounter:
- AF – Aunt Flo (menstruation)
- ART – Assisted reproductive technology
- ASA – Anti-sperm antibody
- BFN – Big fat negative
- BD – Baby dance (sex)
- BMS – Baby making sex
- CM – Cervical mucus
- COW – Curse of womanhood (menstruation)
- DE – Donor eggs
- DH – Dear husband
- DPO – Days post-ovulation
- DW – Dear wife
- ENDO – Endometriosis
- HPT – Home pregnancy test
- IF – Infertility
- IUI – Intra-uterine insemination
- IVF – In vitro fertilization
- MC – Miscarriage
- PG – Pregnant
- SA – Semen analysis
- TL – Tubal ligation
- TR – Tubal reversal
- TTC – Trying to conceive
- V – Vasectomy
- VE – Vaso-epididymostomy
- VR – Vasectomy reversal
- VV – Vasovasostomy
